Almeria province has got some wonderful beaches on offer, many of them being the cleanest in Spain. Here are just a few to try out:-
Aqua Amarga – A Blue Flag beach in a sheltered bay. Great for diving and swimming.
Aguadulce – A few kilometres of clean and well-looked after beach.
Almerimar – Brilliant for birdwatching, this clean, sandy beach runs into a nature reserve.
Cabo de Gata – At the southern most point of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, this beach is known for its beauty and tranquillity.
El Algarrobico, Carboneras – With its medium gold sand and pebbles, this beach is incredibly scenic and is ideal for nature lovers, being located in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
El Lancon, Carboneras – An urban Blue Flag beach with promenade in the town of Carboneras.
El Monsul, San Jose – Crystal clear water and fine sand make this Blue Flag beach worth a visit.
El Sombrerico, Mojacar Playa – Shallow waters and lovely sand make this quiet beach ideal for families. Also great for diving.
Garrucha – The harbour beach is great for families because it has clean, calm water, fine sand, children's play area and table tennis facilities. It is a Blue Flag beach.
Genoveses, San Jose – Near San Jose, this beach is located in a cove in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park and has fine, golden sand and calm waters.
Las Negras, San Jose – The beach of the unspoilt fishing village of Las Negras.
Los Escullos, San Jose – A great beach with crystal clear water, in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Great for diving.
Los Muertos, Carboneras – In 2008, this beach was awarded the title of “Best Beach in Spain” by the Institute for Quality Tourism in Spain. A lovely beach with crystal clear water.
Macenas, Mojacar Playa – A nudist beach within easy reach of Mojacar Pueblo.
Mojacar Playa – A Blue Flag beach of 15km of sand.
Playa de Balerma, Adra – This Blue Flag beach has pebbles and dark sand.
Playa de Puerto Rey – Close to Vera Playa, Puerto Rey is located on a Blue Flag sandy beach.
Playa del Peñon Blanco, La Isleta – 240m of fine white sand in a lovely secluded cove with a view of La Isleta del Moro rock.
Retamar, Almeria City – Situated within the Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
Roquetas de Mar – The beaches around the town of Roquetas de Mar stretch for many kilometres and are sandy and clean.
San Jose – San Jose beach is situated in the scenic Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
San Juan de los Terreros – A wonderful Blue Flag beach on the Murcia side of the Almeria Province on the way to Aguilas.
Vera Playa – This Blue Flag beach is 6.8km of lovely, golden sand which is clean and has several beach bars.
