Getting to Granada

By Air

Granada has its own airport, Granada Airport (GRX) which can be reached from London Luton and Manchester with Monarch and from London Gatwick with EasyJet. There are also many other international flights available to and from the city's airport.

Some international travellers will fly first to Madrid and then get a connecting flight to Granada. Madrid obviously has a large international airport offering a huge selection of airlines and flights.

By Train

Granada can be reached from Madrid and other Spanish cities by train. From Madrid, the trip takes few hours and some people prefer this to flying as they can see the wonderful Spanish countryside on their travels.

Locate information about train prices and schedules at this website (English) http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/ingles.html.

Getting to Your Granada Hotel

Granada International Airport is located about 16 kilometres west of the city and you can reach the city itself by taking the A92 Seville Motorway. Taxis are one of the best methods to get from the airport or train station to your Granada accommodation and are amazingly cheap.

If you want to be able to venture out of the city to explore the Sierra Nevada and surrounding area, you may want to hire a car. There are many car hire companies with agents or offices operating at Granada Airport, just make sure you book in advance.
